Russian people with the words "self-propelled housing" immediately recalled the notorious hut on the hoofs. However, residents of the Danish Kingdom with a similar mutation are not familiar. And they chose as the prototype of a walking house a more stable model than an two-legged bird - an insect.

One of the founders of the studio N55, named so by the number of the house where members of this community of free artists live, Ion Sorvin (Ion Sorvin) has long been interested in the idea of ​​mobile housing. In collaboration with the recently joined art buddies architect Oivind Alexander Slaatto, the Dane developed and hopes to implement the project Walking House - a six-legged mechanical creature in which you can live.

The inhabitants of Walking House, however, will have to get used to the Spartan conditions: a room measuring 2.3x2.4x8 is designed for four people.

However, this disadvantage is compensated by the main advantage: at a speed of up to 5 km / h, smoothly carrying a ton of own weight and tenants, the insect house is able to move along the rugged terrain. Choosing as a temporary address the most picturesque corners in the vastness of his native Denmark.

And if the owners are bored with a nomadic life, then several six-legged modules can form an entire apartment. Inhabitants of which, in case of divorce, do not have to divide real estate - it is enough just to "make legs"
